We will buy a second hand ambulance, then modify the interior and exterior in order to turn it into a Thought Foundation art studio/ workshop on wheels. We will commission an artist to create a piece of artwork/design on the exterior to give it a creative new and unique look for the “Art Ambulance”. Then refitted to contain a range of storage for all the art material we need to deliver remote art actives. We will set up a calendar of art activities that can be delivered on request at any site, facilitated by our Thought Foundation arts team or a commissioned artist with our driver. The activities will be wide and varied including drawing, painting, pottery, animation, street art, poetry, creative writing, performing arts etc. We aim to provide the art ambulance service to youth groups, schools, nurseries, hospitals, day care and community groups. It will facilitate a valuable learning within schools & support older people and contribute to their wellbeing.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We need to take art and creativity to the wider local community, help with issues such as wellbeing, confidence and inspire people to be creative. With a pressure on time and lack of skills in our education system there is a need to help give support to teachers and schools to helpl facilitate a valuable learning for to support STEAM subjects within schools. It would aim to support older people and contribute to their wellbeing as it could be delivered in hospices and residential care homes. This service is designed to eliminate the issue of transporting participants to galleries and workshops therefore reducing costs for participants and/or organisations. It will also add an air of excitement to creative learning from the alternative and unusual vehicle.
