This project looks to combine a number of different areas into one space all with the focus of using creativity to promote wellbeing and improved mental health. We will give people a chance to receive mental health support in a variety of ways using creativity and the arts. At the most basic level the café will have art materials free to use for everyone who enters the cafe space and all staff working in the café will have some form of emotional support training to engage with visitors of the café. We will also provide more focus therapeutic support in the manor of open art therapy groups closed art therapy groups and individual sessions in a designated privet space located at the café. We will have art work for sale by local artists at the café all money made from the café and art sales will go towards offering subsidised and free art therapy. We will have a focus on making the space as accessible for more isolated people and people who lack community.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This project will offer something that doesn’t exist. A space where everyone can start to explore their mental health in a safe and fun way. We brake down the barriers to accessing support and make it as common as getting a cup of coffee. We help stop isolation and reconnect people to other people in a world of isolation. Through creativity and food and drink we will make peoples lives better and support the most vulnerable with very cheap therapy. At the same time giving local artists a way to support themselves . This is a space for everyone and will be a non for profit social enterprise designed to make life just a little bit better for everyone.
