The concept involves a live interview format hosted by Daddy Ernie in front of a live audience in various venues and areas in London. The first half our host/s interview our guests asking them questions about their lives, experiences, achievements and struggles so that the audience really get a genuine idea of who our guests are, their hopes, motivations, hidden histories and practical advice. The event includes a live showcase artist featuring up and coming singers and musicians who entertain us with a taste of their talent. Finally we open up the floor for the audience to engage with our guests and ask questions which really makes the event alive and interesting. Past guests have included Levi Roots, Yolanda Brown, Curtis Walker, Aleesha Dixon, David Harewood, Jason Roberts, Slim, Eddie Nestor, Ashley Walters, AngieGreaves, Danny John-Jules, Victor Romero Evans, Janet Kay, Leroy Logan, Gina Yashere, Colin Salmon, June Sarpong, Tameka Empson, Don Warrington, Sherry Ann Dixon.

What we'll deliver:

• Engage celebrities to the BAME community where guests & audience inspire eachother towards personal & collective goals
• Give performance space in the shape of a live showcase to up and coming talent locally.
• ARISE Showcase artists will be asked to do workshop/performances for grass roots community organisations and community.
• ARISE would host up to 2 dozen intergenerational participants (youth/elders) to experience ARISE events for free.
• Give youth & elders the opportunity to be interviewed ARISE guests to share experiences & achievements to the community.
• Involve youth and elders in aspects of putting on ARISE events leading up to and on the day.
• Give youth and elder artists opportunities to perform in ARISE Showcase.
• ARISE guests will be asked to do meet and greet visits to grass roots community organisations and community.

Why it's a great idea:

Currently in the community and in African/African Caribbean community in particular there is a serious lack of opportunity for the community to engage, learn and get real life guidance from the many celebrities and personalities that come out of the community and have contributed so much. We all need role models, inspiration and access to the many hidden histories and experiences that will inevitably give us confidence, practical advise and wisdom to overcome obstacles and problems that often hinder our positive advancement. We especially target elders and youth and plan to create intergenerational engagement between the generations to create a more understanding, supported and valued community in general. This is not just an event but an opportunity to initiate and sustain engagement between celebrities and the community especially youth and elders.

• Next event March 2021 for International Womens Day
• Next event June 2021 for Africa Youth Day
• Next event October 2021 Black History Month

The event will be filmed and professionally edited to be available on the internet. We plan to reach a wide audience on the night and beyond through our website as follows: - At the venue - 250 - Streamed through the internet on the night - 100 -500 - Watched on youtube - 500-2000 over 4 weeks - Shown on TV stations such as London Live 1000-5000 Some of you have experienced ARISE events in the past and have been asking over the years when we will be returning well with your support and contributions we can. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and needed from £2 to £50 or more and will enable us to relaunch a more dynamic, quality and inspiring event for you the community. All donations over £10 will entitle you to attend 1 ARISE event of your choice for free.
