My name is Craig Ward, I am 41, have two awesome boys and live in Worcester and I have recently been gifted the opportunity of taking care of a local allotment. As part of making this project great, I want to get local community groups involved in "Dig Days", hoping to help support those in the community to get out, meet new people and help with their Mental Health. Any crops grown from these digs days I would like to donate and help support the local food banks. As part of the project, I would also like to help show people that building a relatively cheap and simple Solar Power setup can help to lower costs at home and provide a backup if these "Rolling Blackouts" do happen over the coming months., promoting via a YouTube channel. Please help me to get this project off the ground as I need to hire a rotovator, buy some tools and wood, seeds, a portable flushable toilet for guests at community dig days and the Solar Kit. Please get in touch if you can help in anyway Craig
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Positive mental health for all, community building, provide advice and guidance, promoting allotments across Worcestershire.
Steps to get it done:
I recently joined the Worcestershire Wellbeing Service, a fabulous group of people providing support for those struggling with their mental health. As part of this role, I have begun to gain a better understanding of so many great community-based projects so wanted to begin one of my own. This is my first attempt at both a community project and an allotment, so help is needed :-)
