The largest volleyball tournament in the UK we use 3000 coffee cups and 2500 plastic bottles. We want to show players, participants, volunteers and spectators that there is another way, a greener way.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
This is a 4 day event with over 500 players and hundreds of volunteers and spectators, we have a captive audience for 4 days and aim to influence their outlook on recycling, using reusable containers, reducing the use of hard to degrade plastics and raise their awareness of climate change and some of its causes. We want to purchase and distribute reusable coffee cups and good quality water bottles. Both of these will go with the participants beyond the tournament and will be a constant reminder of how we can do our bit to help the environment. This crowdfunding campaign will allow us to purchase 500 reusable coffee cups. The water bottles are being funded from elsewhere.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Most of us think or know that climate change is real and want to do something to help, but don't always know what we can do. Here is a simple way of making a difference, whilst saving yourself a lot of money over time. These cups and bottles will be a constant reminder to you and people around you that you can and are making a difference.
Steps to get it done:
A Tournament for all The World This isn’t your typical volleyball tournament. When it ends with 300 screaming fans creating the sort of atmosphere that few players in this country will have experienced, quite frankly, who cares? In keeping with the competition’s Olympic-inspired roots, each of those teams represented a different country or region of the world. Anybody can participate in the All Nations. Training sessions are laid on ahead of the competition to determine team composition. The volunteering aspect is really important. The tournament is a training ground for all kinds of volunteers, coaches, referees, photographers, physiotherapists and more. This opportunity lets the players see our diverse volunteers in many organisational roles, working together.
