Last year, Africanaza UK Ltd (13898229), a Ltd by guarantee (Not for profit) company started something amazing, celebrating African culture and heritage through our Dinner and dance and Festivals. The first ADADTR was funded by myself (Richard) and Agnes and the rest of the board of directors, but there were constraints of funds which affected the quality of the event. This year, we are looking to bring the event live again (ADADTR2022) but we need support. We can celebrate African culture and heritage through your support. It is events like ours which uplift the community sprit and bring us all together. Your support will enable us to provide lower entrance ticket costs and give free entry tickets to 5 pensioners in Southwark to join in the celebrations, payment for venue and catering. The board of directors are willing to cover the cost of advertisement, volunteers training and other associated cost but we can't cover everything. Your support will go a long way!
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The project will bring the community together encouraging community spirit. We will give volunteers training and qualification to enhance their job search. The project will provide references and experience for volunteers. We source products locally. The person behind the idea (Agnes) has different medical challenges and has always had a dream of contributing to the community, although she cannot contribute physically as she would like to, supporting her to bring her ideas alive will encourage her to do more which will increase her quality of life and encourage other people with severe medical conditions in the community to do more. Offer lower entrance ticket cost to encourage people to join the event offer free entrance tickets to five most senior members of Southwark council Educate the community about African culture and heritage.
Steps to get it done:
Agnes has had this dream for so long, She has gone through a lot medically but still dream about this, with the financial support, the board of directors will work with her to ensure she contribute her quarter to the community as she has always wanted. As mentioned above, we contribute to the first ADADTR but we realise that our money didn't stretch far enough. If we can get help to cover the cost of venue, artist and food, added to what we can cover, the event can successful happen
