It is hard not to be impressed by the skill and commitment of the Paralympians, Invictus games competitiors and disabled sports people in general, but have you ever thought about the issues faced by disabled sports people and spectators on a daily basis? We want to look carefully at the accessibility of our club so we can work toward making it more accessible for disabled sports people and spectators. Our aim is to ensure our club is accessible to all, to encourage disability sport and disabled spectators. Sometimes just a few changes can make the world of difference. We want to start with our biggest and hardest challenge...the accessible toilet.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Disabled people face issues every day when trying to either play or watch sport. From children to adults the problems prevent everyone in our community using and enjoying sports facilities. By starting to make changes, whilst raising awareness, we can help change our community and enable everyone to play and enjoy sport together.
Steps to get it done:
Raise awareness of disability issues. Integrate the disabled and able bodied communities.
