We want to transform a storage area into a working classroom with teaching facilities which would make a huge difference to the cadets who currently only have one shared hall and a tiny classroom.

We would be looking to provide an outside storage container for our tables and chairs which would free up a good sized room to convert to a classroom. The plan would be to paint and carpet the area as well as adding an interactive whiteboard to deliver training to the cadets. As this is a shared area it would be a massive benefit to both the Air Cadets and Army Cadets and open up many wonderful opportunities to learn, teach and demonstrate. We have a large catchment area and our cadets are aged from 12 to 20. Cadets makes a huge difference to their development, providing valuable life lessons such as teamwork, leadership, inspiring confidence, supporting each other, respect and integrity. Our training syllabus covers a real varied range of topics including first aid, navigation and a whole range of aviation related and adventure training skills to name a few. With over 30 cadets in the Air Cadets alone, training space is tight, this would transform our training. Thank you.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
When teaching we have to split the cadets into different groups according to the training. We haven't got the space, so lessons are conducted in one room with instructors having to both talk at the same time. With an extra room, we can support all our cadets by giving them the attention and focus they need. We have some cadets with specific needs who would benefit from a more focused environment with clear visual aids. The digital whiteboard would support the different learning styles of cadets as we could clearly show visual aids and videos when delivering valuable training. The ATC supports the community by giving children fantastic opportunities for development and being part of a team in a face to face environment which is so important after Covid-19 when many of them suffered through lockdown. They also give back to the community through participation in parades and local events. It would be amazing to support the cadets through their learning journey. Venture Adventure!
