THMC sets up a system where small sustainable brands (artists/jewellers/skincare/fashion/homeware) rent an area in the store front to sell and the fees collected run the working of the store and organisation of the venue. The venue also provides out of hours opportunities for brands to hold teaching workshops, events, private launches and sales in the first floor meeting space or exhibit in the gallery basement. These extra potential use of this high street space provides growth for small ethical brands and community focused events. Meeting the makers, learning their skills and creating relationships for these businesses is eco conscious and has social economical benefits.

The conventional business model, wholesale or market trading, take huge commissions from small brands or there is no interest in the artistic development or benefit brought by designer makers.
