Bringing communities together, environmental, conservation, historical, heritage and remembrance
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
A 11 mile and 5 mile fun horse ride to support the Greensand Trust an environmental charity conserving and enhancing the distinctive landscape, wildlife and history of The Greensand Ridge'. Horse riders of any ability, disability or vulnerability can enter, families, groups of friends, or with carers can ride together. This year we are again Commemorating the Centenary of The Great War and have members of The Royal Engineers & Royal Logistics corp riding with us and giving a talk on typical WW1 uniform, tack and equipment. Providing a great day out bringing the community together through activity, supporting the on-going conservation & preservation needs
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
To conserve and preserve an important historical Woodlands and Heathlands for future generations. To help maintain and support 'access for all' to enjoy To support our Woodland Trust who provide 'safe off road' horse riding, bike trails and walking routes To Commemorate the Centenary of WW1 and support Animals In War by fundraising for the World Horse Welfare
Steps to get it done:
The Greensand Trust have provided a designated area for our venue/start point and parking facilities free of charge, in return a portion of the entry fee is a donation to the GST, they have asked us to continue to organise this event. Participant's and horse riders have also requested that we continue hold the event annually, alas, we need help to sustain the event as funds are running low every year. This is a chance to bring likeminded people together, to interact and build friendships and care about each other and the environment
