Our mission is to produce high quality educational music sessions that promote learning, language and literacy skills for children under 5 whilst reducing social isolation. We aim to promote mental health and wellbeing whilst encouraging a sense of community across generations through our Intergenerational music.

What we'll deliver:

  • Decrease loneliness
  • Develop literacy skills

  • Increase activity and movement

Why it's a great idea:

Boogie Mites Intergenerational Music Portsmouth offer lively interactive music that can be enjoyed by the old and young. We have successfully been running sessions with Age UK Portsmouth and other care providers for over a year. The sessions offer Educational opportunities for under 5s Promote re use and recycle through songs, topics and the use of handmade instruments from recycled materials. Decrease social isolation and loneliness of the elderly and parents of young people, promoting cross generational friendships. Promotes positive mental health and wellness through the use of music and movement. Most of all they are enjoyable and great fun.

Overfunding

This project is enabled for overfunding. If the project hits its funding goal before the end of the campaign period, any extra funds raised will be spent (in order of priority) on:

  • All additional money would create additional kits, train further teachers or pay for sessions for vulnerable families or organisations who lack funds.
