The COVID 19 crisis has rocketed demand for our services. Both content and delivery are dependent on funding which can provide resources and blue prints to reach 100’s of young people in our community. The COVID Crisis has disproportionately affected our BAME community. Effects have been felt with increased numbers of key working families within this group, over representation in sickness and death, financial hardship and the grief associated with loss. In Southwark 45% of our young people have heritage from West-Africa or the Carribean. We have been called to support this group by providing specific resources for this sector of our community at this time. Black Legacy aims to be a classic collection of 10 inspirational Comic book issues. Each issue will contain 32 fully coloured pages. Penificent aims to educate through the past, a biographical account of many significant achievements from Black men and women. Black Legacy will provide bespoke online workshops.

We have successfully published a series of PSHE /Social workbooks focusing on life lessons such as honesty and the dangers of social media. We have successfully run multiple workshops in schools which were featured by BBC Newsround and our most successful project “KnifeBoy” was released in May 2019. Our company featured in an interview In The Sunday Times newspaper, where co-founder Anthony elaborated on how Penificent was formed and the passion behind wanting to address social issues in the youth community. Lastly very honoured to have Knifeboy our Antiknife crime comic endorsed and have met the Reduction violence unit where we discussed the strategy to help the issues around Knife crime. We work to provide much needed early in
