We are converting an unused Warehouse in the centre of Walsall into an interactive sports, fitness and entertainment play centre that appeals to all members of the community.
Game Fit Interactive is a new and exciting Walsall project that uses the power of interactive walls and floors to gamify learning and fitness. Using high powered projectors and sensors we will turn an unused space in the centre of Walsall into a learning and fitness zone that will deliver programmes to all ages; early learning. children and young people, adults and our elders. Whilst some of the activities will be drawn from a global open source community and partners we will be creating unique sports and fitness mixed reality games that improve not only fitness but stimulate experiential learning. These unique programmes are created and supported by teachers, educationalists, sports professionals and data scientists all with links to Walsall and the West Midlands. Beneficiaries will include people who don't normally exercise and also members of our community that will appreciate a gamified approach to health and education.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Our kinetic learning approach encourages creativity, social skills, role playing, problem solving as well as improving physical activity. We believe good habits begin at early years. As a Not for profit our “Across The Ages” targeted programs will be partly or fully funded. Our interactive floors not only encourage early years to become active but bring parent and child together in a learning environment that reinforces the best values of community living. Our facilities will provide a safe space for children struggling with school attendance and provide an environment where they can re-engage with learning. Cognitve fitness programs for the elderly will reduce risks of neurodegenerative diseases and we provide schedules for those needing extra support or recovering from illness or operation. This in turn allows us to offer apprenticeships and jobs within the future of health.
Steps to get it done:
The project is a Walsall project for Walsall people by Walsall people. Walsall contractors, those born, living or working or have an interest in Walsall borough will be prioritised for contracts. Our aim to keep the circulation of money in Walsall. Our development plans focus on Sport and Fitness accessibility and money raised is to develop the building for a diverse audience removing the barriers including cost to participation particularly for those who find exercise challenging or need extra confidence to participate. The project includes the widening of doors for wheelchair users. Accessibilty ramps and toilets. Sensory lighting and a wellbeing room for time out. Early years learning Zone. Seated area for mental wellness and cognitive exercise for the elderly
