Based in the heart of Sands End, Fulham, Ray’s Playhouse aims to help give families with young children the start in life they deserve.
Ray’s Playhouse provides a much-needed and stimulating environment for local parents and carers to take their children for daily Stay and Play/Parenting support and advice sessions each weekday morning.
Registered charity Ray’s Playhouse is a children’s centre providing all year round services and support for all families with children under 5 (and their siblings in school holidays) accompanied by their parents and carers. All sessions offered support the ECM agenda and the EYFS themes and principles. There is an extensive outdoor play area and a light open indoor space which provides a wide range of fun activities, which follow the EYFS framework, to suit babies through to pre-schoolers.
There is a carefully selected selection of toys, activities, musical, creative and sensory play. Healthy snack time and special events celebrating the diverse community at Ray’s.
These sessions provide children with opportunities to explore and experiment with a variety of exciting and challenging, yet achievable, experiences with their parents and carers and other children. Supported by early years professionals within our nurturing environment, parents and carers are encouraged to engage and interact appropriately with their children to prepare them for school readiness.
Our staff are qualified in working with under 5’s of all ages. The team provide a warm, friendly welcome to all visitors and are there to listen and help if needed, offering hands on support and advice. Our environment also offers the opportunity for parents and carers to interact with one another and create support networks and friendships that reach far beyond our sessions.
In the afternoon Rays provides targeted sessions for those families with extra needs or the more vulnerable families we support. This is supported with grants from LBHF. Families may attend due to a child having developmental delay, or a parent carer experiencing Domestic Violence, Post Natal Depression or a family not confident to be in a larger group. Examples of these sessions are Speech & Language, Enjoy Your Baby, Health Visitor Clinic, It’s All About Me, Sing Baby Sing, Wiggle Waggle, Healthy Eating and small group Focused Play.
