“Rainham Association for Village Events” (R.A.V.E) was set up over 15 years ago building on the amazing vibrant village community..
This year we would like to run a Victorian Christmas theme event, providing Free entertainment and activities throughout the day in the village for all the family to enjoy which includes Live entertainment, Art Exhibition, Victorian Mix and Mingle street entertainers, Carol singers, School choirs, Morris dancers, Brass band and not forgetting Santa in his Grotto.
Victorian characters will transform Rainham Village by stepping back in time. Children and their families will able to take a leisurely stroll throughout the Village while exploring the heritage and nostalgia of our Rainham Village. After visiting all the Victorian characters within the Village, children will then be able to have the opportunity to visit Santa in his grotto to obtain a Victorian Christmas giveaway.
What we'll deliver:
- Ask Santa and his grotto to join us
- Live entertainment - Brass Band and hopefully a Christmassy Choir
- Provide free entertainment and activities throughout the day for all the family.
- Provide fun and exciting activities for children
Why it's a great idea:
We at R.A.V.E are all volunteers and we try to fundraise at all these events to enable us to deliver a Christmas event each year within Rainham. The Local Authority provides the festive lighting and the Christmas tree to the village to complement our Christmas event each year. This year we want to transform and enhance the Village into a Victorian theme and encourage people to embrace this theme at a special time of the year ‘Christmas’. Our event is designed to bring the local community closer together.

- Engage with local communities
- Invite local businesses to take part
- Help from volunteers
Our main goals are to promote the local businesses and show off what Rainham really has to offer and to provide local residents with a taste of Christmas and an opporutnity to enjoy Christmas together as a community reguardless of financial or family backgrounds
